Fake News

In today's digital age, fake news has truly become a nuisance. Especially during the current situation, fake news is manipulating people in the wrong way. People are taking extreme steps after believing in such news.
There has to be a way to stop such events from happening. WhatsApp introduced a feature where a message cannot be forwarded more than 5 times. It was a welcome step in curbing fake news, but still it was not the ultimate solution.
I feel there needs to be an AI engine that reads a message and decides whether it is fake or not. It can do that by first identifying the message as 'news' or not. If it is news, it will ask the creator of the message to submit proof of the news (either a link from a Govt source or from mainstream media). The engine will then cross-refer the link and the message and decide whether the news is real or fake.
I agree that this method is not completely foolproof. The sender can fake the proof also. But a strong AI engine with loads of data can prove to be a viable solution.
