@oneplus has launched the @oneplus.nord , a premium mid-range smartphone for ₹24,999/€399.


Here's how OnePlus gave a masterclass in

'How to market a good product in a great way'


1. World's first AR smartphone launch, with never seen before visuals about the smartphone.


2. Giving teasers about the product in a subtle manner for the past 3 months to increase hype


3. Awesome unboxing experience, which is not necessary for a mid-range smartphone


4. A clever and cunning presentation.


Here's how they revealed the pricing and availability details:


- ‌They mentioned that the phone would come with 12/256GB ram/storage.


- ‌Then they told that the starting price is ₹24,999.


- ‌Then, it was revealed that the starting price mentioned before, was for a 6/64GB variant.


- ‌Then they mentioned that the phone will be

available from 4th August.


- ‌Then they mentioned that only the 8/128GB (₹27,999) and 12/256GB (₹29,999) variants will be available from 4th August.


- ‌Then they mentioned that the 6/64GB variant will be available from September.


This strategy tricks the people to buy the expensive variants.


This is a crazy way of marketing, and it looks that this strategy has worked, since there's a lot of hype, and people will flock to buy it, which they should as it is a very good smartphone.


But the marketing team needs to be given credit for creating such a hype for a relatively normal product!
