True Wireless Charging

Wireless charging is very popular among smartphones these days. Smartphone manufacturers stick a coil on the back of the phone and sell a wireless charging pad for extra money. Through this kind of charging, the phone charges at 5W. To put in perspective, a standard charger charges at 10W, fast charger at 18W or more.
So what is the USP of today's wireless charging tech? You don't have to stick the cable in a port. Is that a good enough reason to market a feature? Even considering the fact that this tech is slower in charging the phone? Also the phone needs to be properly aligned to the charging pad so that the phone may charge.
I would like to go forward and state that today's wireless charging tech should be renamed to 'portless charging', because i feel that's what it is ultimately.
True wireless charging is one where, when the phone enters a particular room, it automatically starts charging via various transmitters that cover the room premises. One practical way to do it is through wifi charging. The phone may charge from the energy emitted by a wifi router. This tech seems far-stretched but there are various concepts out there that give a glimpse on how it would look like.
Today's wireless charging is not true wireless charging. Do not be misled by brand advertising. It is just a tactic to sell you an unwanted, overhyped, underdeveloped feature.
